Site - A physical facility (e.g. DC - Cambridge). Defines the geofence for driver arrival detection.

Section - A named area within a site (e.g. Dock, Back Lot). Float sections allow unpositioned trailer drops.

Spot / Door - A specific dock door or parking position. Has its own status tracked in real time.

Float Spot - An unpositioned trailer in a float area. Created on drop, deleted when the trailer departs.

🚛 Trailer arrives at a dock door

1Truck pulls into dock. Dispatcher clicks the Open door on the Yard tab.

2Click Arriving at Door → enter trailer number → spot status changes to Occupied - Full (or Empty).

3Set Trailer Activity (e.g. Unloading) so the team knows what's happening at the door.

🔄 Moving a trailer between doors

1Click the occupied door → Move from Door → opens Move Trailer modal.

2Select destination: Site → Section → Door. Assign a driver if needed.

3Task created → destination shows En Route badge. Origin shows Departing.

4Driver hooks up → taps Hooked Up & Moving in app. Origin clears to Open.

5Driver completes task → destination updates to Occupied.

🅿️ Staging a trailer in a float area

1In the Yard tab, find the float section (Back Lot, Rear Side Lot, etc.) and click + Float Trailer.

2Enter trailer # and select status (Occupied - Full or Occupied - Empty). A Float Spot is created automatically.

3When the trailer is moved, the float spot is deleted automatically - keeping the yard clean.

↪️ Rerouting a task mid-move

1Click a door showing En Route (purple badge) - the inbound task details appear.

2Click ↪ Reroute → pick a new destination (Site → Section → Spot).

3Click Confirm Reroute → task is updated, driver's app shows the new destination immediately.

📱 Driver workflow (mobile app)

1Driver opens app → Available Tasks tab shows all pending tasks they can claim.

2Tap a task → review details → tap Claim Task to accept it.

3At the pickup spot, tap Hooked Up & Moving - clears the origin door.

4At the destination, tap Mark Complete → task closes, dispatcher sees door update.
